BIO

Susan Deming, CCDA, began her work in casting in 2006 populating commercials, television and feature films with dynamic, engaging and memorable characters for directors Peter Farrelly, Christopher Guest, Jody Hill, Ruben Fleischer, Dennie Gordon, Jake Szymanski, Jorma Taccone, H. Jon Benjamin and Tim Heidecker & Eric Wareheim, among others.

Susan was honored to cast Season 2 of Laff Mobb's Laff Tracks for TruTV, VMA-nominated music videos, Kevin's Heart and ATM for R&B artist J. Cole, the web series Like and Subscribe for Funny or Die/go90, feature film, Tim & Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie, Amazon sitcom pilot presentation, Reality UnscriptedShark After Dark for Discovery Channel, and the Los Angeles Film Fest Audience Award winning short film, The Gunfighter, starring Nick Offerman. From 2013-2014, Susan served as Casting Director for The Arsenio Hall Show on CBS with her Casting Cooperative partner, Dorien Davies. Susan’s broad-ranged roster of projects include the festival-bound short films Another Sea, The Heist, Green Parrot and Echo, along with major commercial campaigns for Apple, Microsoft, CheezIt, Hotel Tonight, Experian, Nike, Quizno’s, Audi, Panasonic, Spirit Airlines, Cargill, Disney Junior and Time Warner Cable, among others, plus multiple comedy sketches for Super Deluxe, Mack Chat for Disney Channel, Democracy Handbook with Bassem Youssef on F*Comedy and feature segments for Bill Nye Saves the World on Netflix, Carpool Karaoke: The Series on Apple Music and World of Warcraft on YouTube. Formerly, she served as Casting Associate on the feature films,
Hall Pass and The Three Stooges, and the Comedy Central series, Jon Benjamin Has a Van.

Susan recently cast Fusion's documentary, The Trump Phenomenon, with director Leighton Woodhouse which has been nominated for an Emmy Award, millennial rom-com feature, The Browsing Effect, for director Michael K. Feinstein, and the gritty genre feature, Watch Jessica Die for director Rich Nathanson, co-written by and starring magician Penn Jillette. Susan will next cast Rule #1: Never Get Murdered Again, an original comedy pilot for Jash starring YouTube stars Nathan Barnatt and David Sandberg, creator of the Internet phenomenon, Kung Fury, and feature film Oklahoma Salsa for director Ben Peyser.

Susan graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in theatre. She is an alumna of The Groundlings Sunday Company, a conservatory graduate of The Second City and a mainstage performer at iO West (RIP) and Impro Lab Ensemble. In addition, she holds a Certificate in Television Writing from UCLA Extension and is a writing fellow at the Writer's Boot Camp. She loves funny people and wants to keep them all employed.
